6. Discussion - discussion of issues that may be up for decision at future meetings
- Emailing AAC minutes
- Circing Playaways:
- CW/TT recommends:
- No batteries (available for purchase)
- No headphones (available for purchase $1 or alternately one set per patron)
- Labels for number of discs?
- Suggestion that these be standardized:
- Placed next to the barcode
- OWLS could order (or print) bulk for 1-7 discs
- Libraries could place orders for number of sheets
- Proposed loan rule changes
(current loan rules)
- Music CDs and tapes should circ for 14 days with 1 renewal (like magazines and CD-ROMs)
OR
- Music CDs and tapes should circ for 7 days with 2 renewals (like videos)
- We should make the loan rules simpler - for example, give everything 2 renewals
Should we block on the second overdue notice?
(Currently we block on the bill and over $5)
- Advantages - patrons are less likely to be checking out items when they have lots of items overdue.
- Disadvantages - it may seem arbitrary to patrons because very few libraries mail out the second overdue. Only emailed patrons generally receive these.
