We have activated "Related Subjects" on the InfoSoup test server. Related Subjects will appear in the search box when you have performed a keyword search. Here is an example of how it looks:

When you click on the "more" link, a pop-up window displays additional subject searches related to the current search. You can click on them to initiate a new search based on that subject. We can't control how it functions, meaning, we can't dictate if it goes into a pop-up window or not. But even though we aren't very fond of how it appears, we are liking the idea and what it can offer patrons and staff.
What do you think? Any problems with enabling this feature? Love it? Hate it? Post your comments, please.

I like the idea and whould find it useful as would out patrons. But like you said it doesn't thrill me with its appearance. Is it possible to see what the whole page would look like with the updates?

Penny - I'm not sure what you mean by "Is it possible to see what the whole page would look like with the updates?" The feature is as it is, there's not much else we can do to it. Please clarify your question, so I can be sure what you mean. Thanks! :)

Love it! Great feature. Not to sound too impatient, but I saw a spellcheck feature mentioned on the test server. Any idea how long until we get that new toy?

Lyn - Spellcheck will come with the upgrade to WebpacPro, which we are currently in the process of scheduling. I'm hoping it will be taken care of within the next few weeks, but we don't have a solid date yet.

I am also liking the idea and would be liking to see us implement. We can press for refinements later, but this would be useful.

I liked this also. I tried a couple of tricky keyword searches and liked the results that I got. For instance, cooking came up with some useful results.

I like this feature. It's not perfect (doesn't always give you a broad range of subjects, see: organizing) and it looks a little funky. But it is a good way to introduce other subjects.
