My Lists
With the recent upgrade, we gained a new feature option in InfoSoup called "My Lists." This feature allows patrons to save multiple lists of materials they want to keep track of for later reference or check out. Cool, yes? Well... yes and no.
I configured My Lists in the staging version of InfoSoup (http://www.infosoup.org:2082/), where it is still active if you want to play around with it. However, the implementation is not intuitive and has some major issues, so much so that I don't feel we can release it to the public in its current state. One of the major problems is that clicking on any "start over" button once you've created or added to a list will log you out of your account. Not cool. After reading the listserv of the IUG, I can tell you that we're not alone in our concerns about making this feature public.
So, I guess I'd like to hear what y'all have to say about it. I'm not going to provide you any instructions on how to try it out (use the link above to get to staging), because I want to see if you think it's as clunky as I do. Go ahead and give it a try and post your comments here. I'm hoping that all the ruckus on the listserv will make III see that this was a poor implementation that needs to be fixed pronto, but that remains to be seen.
Thanks,
Beth
