An Appleton Public Library patron recently made the following suggestion:
Would it be possible to put ratings on the brief display of the search results? It seems you now have to go from the brief display to the long display to see the rating. But I think patrons who are interested in ratings would find it useful to see them right away on the brief result, as a guide to what long records they might want to look at.
This was, indeed, possible, so I set it up in staging. What do you think? Good? Bad? Post your thoughts in the comments.
Thanks,
Beth

I think it's great! Really makes the ratings more obvious and accessible.

The idea is great. We have a number of people each day trying to find ratings and to go into the full record is bothersome for them.
I'm glad this is possible.

I think it is a good idea and it works well on the display.

Is it possible to make sure the patron is not referring to the industry rating of the movie?
Both would be great in the short record.

Hi Penny,
I'm not sure what you mean in relation to the patron referring to the industry rating... The InfoSoup rating is a star system and movie ratings are PG, R, etc., so I don't think there would be any confusion. Am I missing your point? Please expand your comment if I am. I don't think we can pull the movie ratings out of the marc record to include on the brief display...Evan, correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks,
Beth
