As of approximately 11:15 AM, all of the notices have now run. All printed notices are now available to be picked up from the notices website. Notices that were to be e-mailed to patrons (including courtesy notices) have also been sent.
Notices did not run this morning, so no overdue notices, courtesy notices or hold pickup notices are available or were emailed to patrons. OWLS has a call open with Innovative and will send out an update as soon as more information is available.

At the November AAC meeting, we agreed to start forwarding all bounced email messages to the library email accounts. This will enable libraries to call patrons who have bounced overdue notices or bounced hold pickup notices. These messages will start to be forwarded on Monday, Jan 13th. Please take a look at the instructions for Managing Millennium Bounced Email Messages.

It's finally time for the PC Management vendor demos!
PC Management demos with our top two vendors, Envisionware and Comprise Technologies (SAM) will be held on Jan 23rd and 24th. In order to encourage attendance, we will be having identical demos in Appleton and downtown Green Bay. Morning demos will be held at the Appleton Public Library in the lower level meeting rooms. Afternoon demos will be held at the Brown County Library - Main branch.
Please mark this on your calendar! We strongly encourage each library to send a representative to attend the demos from each vendor - we will be asking for your opinions and assistance in making the final decision.

Occasionally, items are trapped to fill a hold, but never arrive. Of course, when this happens, the item hold has changed from a bib hold to an item hold, and no other item will fill the hold. Your patron can end up waiting for an item that doesn't arrive, while other patrons holds are filled.
If this happens, you'll need to intervene to fix the problem. First, make sure you've given the item enough time to arrive. We'd recommend waiting three weeks - that should be plenty of time for the item to arrive. Once this time has passed, cancel the patron's hold, then re-place the item, and move them up to number one in the queue. (Since an item had already trapped to fill their hold, they were clearly at the top of the queue at one time.)
If you have questions, or would like assistance, just call the OWLS office.
