The MOVE list, long beloved of those of us who fondly remember the migration, is finally being retired.  After today, Monday, Feb 11th, please do not send queries to move@mail.owls.lib.wi.us.  Instead, please use the new OWLSNet Help list at owlsnethelp@mail.owls.lib.wi.us.

List traffic has died down dramatically over the last few months, but I'd like to encourage everyone to use this list for questions about Millennium and InfoSoup, even when you know which staff member is responsible for answering your question.  I know that some individuals have not used this list because they were concerned that questions sent to the list may be distributed to all OWLSnet libraries.  However, the list is not broadcast to everyone, but rather is sent to a number of OWLS staff members. 

The top five reasons to use OWLSNet Help instead of sending an email to a specific staff person:

1. It isn't always clear (even to us) who is responsible for answering a specific question.  Sending an email to this list always gets the question to the person responsible as quickly as possible.
2. Staff members at OWLS occasionally take vacations, are sick, or are out of the office on business.  Emails sent to those staff members may linger, while others will respond to questions sent to the OWLSnetHelp list even if it isn't their primary area of responsibility.
3. Laura will get a lot of experience answering questions if she can see all of the questions that library staff are asking.
4. It will make OWLSnet staff happy.
5. It will help create world peace.
