Security issues with InfoSoup - two remaining problems
We believe that most of the security issues with InfoSoup (related to the installation of SSL on the server) have been resolved. However, there are two issues remaining. If you are experiencing any security issues other than the issues listed below, please let me know.
- Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?
This message (with slight variations) appears in Internet Explorer only, when logged into My Account. It is triggered by clicking on the cover art, either from the brief list display, or from a full record.
We are working with Bookletters to resolve this issue. In the meantime, it is completely safe to display both secure and non-secure content. - Back to Catalog button produced either Proxy error: Error reading from remote server OR blank page
This problem occurs in both Internet Explorer and in Firefox, when logged into My Account. It is triggered by a series of steps. First, click on the title of an item that you currently have checked out or on hold. Then, in the full record, click on a Webbridge link, such as Amazon. (The Webbridge links are in the orange dashed box to the right of the full record display.) When you click Back to Catalog to return to InfoSoup, Firefox returns a blank page, and Internet Explorer returns a proxy error.
We've reported this issue to Innovative. It is a known issue, and their Software Engineering department is working on it. In the meantime, you can click on the back arrow to get back to InfoSoup.
