What everyone should know about Ecommerce

|
As more patrons use Ecommerce, they're going to be asking questions, and it's important that we have the right answers.  Here are a few things that everyone should knows:

  • Debit cards cannot be used to pay fees with Ecommerce.

  • If the transaction doesn't go through, encourage the patron to use another type of payment, or a different credit card. Don't encourage the patron to keep trying with the same card.  There are many things that can block a transaction, including using a debit card or entering incorrect information (expiration date, confirmation code, etc.).  Continuing to try with the same information isn't likely to result in a successful transaction.

  • If a transaction didn't go through, but the patron claims that the funds were taken from their account, contact Gerri at the OWLS office.  Don't attempt to resolve the problem yourself.  Gerri will research the dispute with PayPal, and contact you, or the patron (whichever you prefer).

  • There's an ECommerce FAQ in the OWLSnet ManualAll staff should know how to access the manual, which requires logging on with the extranet username and password.  If you don't know how to log in, just call the OWLS office, and we can help.
