Mango Languages

|
As discussed at the AAC meeting on Friday March 18, we have decided that, given our budget situation, we cannot renew our contract this year for Mango Languages. The last day Mango will be available will be March 31. I have put a notice on the InfoSoup home page under the Mango logo and on the Mango Login page http://info.infosoup.org/mango/.  On the Mango login page I have also put together a quick collection of resources and links for finding language learning resources in InfoSoup and online. Over the next few weeks I will be working on a more permanent page of language resources. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

SAM statistics posted

The SAM statistics were posted today.  We had a small problem with the SAM database, but the problem has now been resolved.

Price Increase for Item Barcodes

|
At the beginning of February, our barcode vendor increased their prices from $30.80/1000 to $32.34/1000.  Any future orders will be billed at the new price of $32.34/1000.  This price has been posted on the OWLSnet website on the Supplies Order page.
Starting at 5:15 PM on Saturday, March 5, the OWLSnet network will be unavailable for about an hour, as it undergoes scheduled maintenance.

During this time, access to all OWLSnet online services will be unavailable
from both inside and outside of OWLSnet member libraries.  This includes, but is not limited to:
  • InfoSoup
  • Millennium
  • OWLSnet hosted web sites
  • OWLS and NFLS email
  • Wireless library service
Once the work is complete, all access from within the OWLSnet libraries should be completed restored.  However, access to some of the OWLSnet online resources from outside of the OWLSnet libraries may take longer (possibly overnight) as the changes will need time to propagate through the Internet.

Libraries who are open on Sunday, March 6th, have received special instructions on how to report issues to Dave Bacon.

On Sunday, after the work has been completed, if a few of your patrons are have trouble accessing InfoSoup, restarting their computer, or asking the patron to clear their web browser's cache is likely to resolve the problem.  The following link provides detailed instructions on how to clear the cache memory on most current web browsers.

If your library is not open on Sunday, but you would like to report an issue, please feel free to email Dave Bacon at his OWLS email address.
