OWLSnet Notice Schedule
Notices to be mailed will be available for libraries after 5 AM every day at the notices website. Select your agency, then enter your library van code and library email password to view the available notices.
Hold pickup and cancel notices
- Generated 7 days a week.
- Generated the day after the item is trapped, or the hold is canceled.
- Emailed to all patrons with their notice preference set to email. All other notices sent to notices website for printing.
- Reports are generated on the weekend and closed days, so libraries will want to check for available reports after closed days, and days they don't generally view the reports.
Courtesy notices
- Generated 7 days a week.
- Generated 1 day before the due date.
- Emailed to all patrons with their notice preference set to email. No print courtesy notices are generated.
- Because of the short time frame, and the large quantity of notices, bounced courtesy notices will not be researched, or re-sent.

First overdue notices
- Generated M-F on library open days.
- Video overdue notices generated 3 days after due date.
- All other overdue notices generated 10 days after due date.
- Emailed to all patrons with their notice preference set to email. All other notices sent to notices website for printing.
- Generated (most times) from the owning agency, but when items from multiple agencies are overdue on the same day, will be generated from the agency owning the first overdue item.
- Notices may be delayed if records are busied. Notices will then be generated on the following day.
- Not all libraries mail out first overdue notices.
Second overdue notices
- Generated M-F on library open days.
- Video second overdue notices generated 10 days after due date.
- All other second overdue notices generated 24 days after due date.
- Emailed to all patrons with their notice preference set to email. All other notices sent to notices website for printing.
- Generated (most times) from the owning agency, but when items from multiple agencies are overdue on the same day, will be generated from the agency owning the first overdue item.
- Notices may be delayed if records are busied. Notices will then be generated on the following day.
- Not all libraries mail out second overdue notices.

Bills
- Generated M-F on library open days.
- Video bills generated 24 days after due date.
- All other bills generated 45 days after due date.
- Bills are never emailed, only available for printing from the notices page.
- Generated from the owning agency.
- Bills may be delayed if records are busied. Bills will then be generated on the following day.
Adjusted bills
- Generated M-F on library open days.
- Generated when a billed item is returned. The bill is canceled and an adjusted bill is generated, reflecting the appropriate fine.
- Adjusted bills are never emailed, only available for printing from the notices page.
- Generated from the owning agency.
- Adjusted bills may be delayed if records are busied. Adjusted bills will then be generated on the following day.
- Most libraries do not mail out adjusted bills.
