Network Cable Installation

As additional computers continue to be installed at the libraries for connection to the OWLSnet Network I thought I should convey a few thoughts concerning network cable installation quotes.

As most of the OWLSnet libraries are aware of, OWLS has been recommending Wire Technologies, Inc. for all computer network cabling needs. This recommendation is based upon many years of very positive results and excellent customer satisfaction from Wire Technologies. Although OWLS cannot insist that all OWLSnet libraries use Wire Technologies, Inc. for their network cabling needs, OWLS is very confident that Wire Technologies is still providing an outstanding service for the money.

OWLS has asked Wire Technologies not to quote on or use substandard components when working with the OWLSnet libraries. As such, it is possible that libraries could receive lower network cabling quotes from other sources. As with most purchases, with network cabling installations you really do get what you pay for. Please keep this in mind if you are required to compare multiple quotes. Wire Technologies, Inc. has personally assured OWLS that they will only use the very best quality network cable, components, and installation procedures in the OWLSnet library installations. As an added service to the OWLSnet libraries, Wire Technologies has also assured us that they will use a computer analyzer to test every cable that is installed by them at no additional cost to the libraries.

Again, OWLS cannot require that your library use one network cabling company over another. All we can do is to provide you with whatever information we have to help you make a decision that is best for you and the rest of the OWLSnet network.
